Can I take a trial class?
Yes! Most of all, we want to ensure that you and your child will feel comfortable in the class and with the programs. The first class in a new environment can often be stressful, especially for younger children who have never taken a group class before or have never separated. Studio of the Dance Arts' classes are a cumulative experience in which the students grow and learn together and one trial session is not a true indicator of a child’s educational experience in the year-long course. The Studio’s staff is always eager to speak with any parents regarding specific questions.

frequently asked questions

How is the Studio of the Dance Arts different from other studios?
The Studio of the Dance Arts has been in business for 44 years and prides itself in family-oriented, wholesome, and professional dancing. We do not put our dancers in revealing costumes nor do we choreograph performances with inappropriate and suggestive dance moves. Our teachers are either certified or degreed instructors and have years of dance performance or dance education experience. We use our older students to assist with larger classes but they do not teach the class. We utilize positive reinforcement and no negativism is allowed! We do not dictate to you the classes your student must take, you choose!  We are always available to you for questions and comments. We are family!

What performances will my dancer be involved in?
Our big Spring Recital is held in early June in the Doug Avery Performance Art Center at Mynderse Academy
. This is a very professional performance with full costuming, lighting, and dancing! The performance is professionally videotaped and available to you. Our students and teachers work very hard in preparation of this performance! It is our annual "Grand Finale" and is  a show that differentiates us from other dance studios in the area. We also participate in various community events as well as competitions. Some examples are posted on the PORTFOLIO page.

Which class should I register for?
Parents should register their children for the class that is age-appropriate at the beginning. If a child outgrows a class, our director and members of the staff will recommend that the student switch into the next level/age class. We are always available to discuss and recommend choices what would be best fit you and your child's needs and aspirations. Go to the
PROGRAMS  page to view the descriptions of class instruction that we offer and the SCHEDULES / NEWS page for times and days of class offerings.
